Hammett Sothoron B. [Male] b. 25 SEP 1859 St. Mary's Co., MD - d. 28 JAN 1893 Calvert Co., MD
Person ID: 1211
Occupation: Physician

See father's Notes for 1880 Federal Census. He is identified as a waterman.

- Dr. Sothoron B. Hammett, was the son of Captain John H. Hammett (1823-1886) and Ann E. Simmons (1831-1926) of St. Mary's Co. He was born September 25, 1859 and as his mother was from Calvert Co., MD, the family moved there.
- Cordell's "Medical Annals of Maryland" lists "S. B. Hammett", but gives the data on Dr. Charles Massey Hammett (probably a question of confusion in writing).
- Dr. Sothoron B. Hammett was buried in the Simmons private burial lot, located on Sixes Road across from Jack Hammett's in Calvert Co., MD. There are graves of his mother, father and sister but no record of a grave for his wife. Probably he was never married.
