-----

-----
The funeral of Mrs. Frances Howard Birely, widow of George Birely, who died on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Frederick City Hospital after a lingering illness, will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Evangelical Reformed church, following a brief service at the late home, 215 East Patrick street. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. C. C. Carty funeral director.
- Mrs. Birely had been at the hospital since the first of the year, and although death came as a shock to relatives and friends, it was known that her condition was serious.

- She is survived by two sons, Charles Sothoron Howard, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Francis Dorsey Howard, of Baltimore, and one sister, Mrs. Lee Slingluff, Baltimore.
- A special meeting of the Francis Scott Key Post, No. 11, American Legion, has been called for this evening at 7:30 o'clock by Post Commander E. Austin James, in the Francis Scott Key Hotel, when plans will be made for the legion members to attend the funeral in a body. (Frederick, MD Post :5, Reported 1927.02.01)
