Shaw, 78, Montrose, died Wednesday evening at Keokuk Area Hospital East, following a lengthy illness. - Born Nov. 6, 1899 in Peoria, Ill, he was the son (adopted) of John and Ida Skinner Shaw. On Nov. 24, 1928 he married Jessie Marshall in Montrose. He was employed by True Temper Co. in Geneva, Ohio for 25 years retiring in 1964 to move to Montrose. - He was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church and the Jabba Lodge No. 136 A.F. & A.M. in Montrose. He was also a former mayor and councilman of Montrose and served on the school board. - He is survived by his wife, Jessie, one son, William, Davenport, Ia., two daughters -- Mrs. James (Sandra) Wray, Hamilton, Ill. and Mrs. Larry (Charlene) Wilson, Poway, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. - He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter. - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the Rev. Willis Wilheim officiating. Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery. - Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon.
