- Born in Frankfort on December 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles Norman and Elizabeth Hancock Wiard. A beloved husband and father, Buddy was a member of Good Shepherd Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1948 to 1949.
- Buddy retired from IBM in 1990 after 39 years. A lifetime resident of Frankfort, he coached little league baseball teams for 17 years. After retirement, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of farming.
- Buddy is survived by Carol Sue, his wife of 56 years; five sons, Chad (Connie) Wiard, Philip Wiard, Jeff (Lisa) Wiard, Tim (Tracy) Wiard and Jon Wiard; three daughters, Mary Walker, Debbie (Mark) Wash and Jinna (Craig) Allan; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his much-loved niece, Mac Lewis and nephew, Bob Hubbard.
- He was preceded in death by his beloved sister,Ginny Wiard ; his grandson, Gage Allen and his daughter-in-law, Jamie Toles Wiard
- Pallbearers were Mr. Wiard's grandsons, Austin,Ryan,Drew, Jacob, Will,Cliff and Anthony.
