Raymond Eugene Burroughs, Sr, 77 of Mathias, WV died February 28, 2013 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born November 17, 1935 in Washington, DC, and was a son of the late William R. and Margaret Bremmerman Burroughs. He was a bus mechanic for ABC Bus in Orlando, FL. Surviving are two sons, Raymond E. Skip Burroughs, Jr. of Mathias,WV, Paul D. Burroughs of Mathias; one daughter, Linda D. Smith of Mathias,; one brother, Clifford Burroughs of Triangle, VA; one sister, Betty L. Jagger of Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; stepson, Charles S. Franke of Mathias; special friend, Toni Seekford of Bridgewater. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Burroughs, and a sister, Barbara McDaniel. Rev. Clifford Burroughs will conduct a funeral service 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home chapel in Broadway. Burial will be in the Mathias Mennonite Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 8 P.M. Saturday at the Grandle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mathias-Baker Fire Company, P.O. Box 59, Mathias, WV 26812.
