- One of my dad's brothers was Philip W. Philbin, and he was called either Phil or Red (because of his hair). My Uncle Phil married Ada Sherier [on 16 Dec 1944], and they settled in Washington D.C. Phil & Ada lived with Ada's parents in the house that her father built. Ada's parents were Mark & Nell Sherier, and at one time they owned a huge piece of property. Over time they sold off sections of it, and then split what was left between their daughters..
- My Uncle Phil had a career in the navy. He was in Naval Aviation and worked in aircraft navigation for much of his career. He was also a geophysicist for the US Geological Survey. My Aunt Ada worked for the Census Bureau. Phil & Ada had 4 kids-Mike, Philip, Patsy & Kevin..
-My Uncle Phil suffered from heart problems and died on Feb.13, 1997 at the age of 82. My Aunt Ada passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on Jan. 04, 2007. (Ancestry.com* - Philbin Family Tree, by "bernacooki")

Shenk and Milton H. Comley. She is also survived by six grandchildren. Friends may call at the Ives Funeral Home, 2847 Wilson blvd., Arlington, Va., after 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Funeral services at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, N. 16th st. and Glebe rd., Arlington, Va. Tuesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. Interment Columbia Gardens Cemetery. - Mrs. Phoebe (sic) S. Havens, 92, an Arlington resident for over 80 years, died at Arlington Hospital Saturday, following a heart attack. She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Lillian R. Shank, at 5325 Lee Highway.
- Mrs. Havens was the widow of DeForest E. Havens, and Erie Railroad administrator, who died in 1956.
- She attended Mt. Olivet Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
- Mrs. Havens is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Shank, and Mrs. Louise Willson; a son, Milton H. Comley; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
- Funeral services will be at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, 16th St. and Glebe Rd., and interment at Columbia Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Ives Funeral Home. (Clipping from unknown newspaper, provided by Ellen Walker-Kurz.)
