HOPEDALE -- Clarence R. "Pops" Wolff, 79, of Hopedale and formerly of Centreville, Md., died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital in Milford.
- He was the husband of Mary (Sothoron) Wolff who died in 2003.
- Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Wengert) Wolff and was educated in Maryland. A lifelong resident of Maryland, Mr. Wolff was employed as a Caterpillar Equipment repair mechanic for Alban Corp. in Maryland for nearly 30 years. He was responsible for the maintenance and repair of Alban's equipment installed in United States embassies throughout the world.
- He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in California and Florida, where he set up radar and communications posts.
- He enjoyed woodworking and stained glass fabrication, and was an avid coin and gun collector.
- He leaves a son, Robert Wolff and his wife, Sue, of Centreville, Md. and a daughter, Dottie (Wolff) Milanoski and her husband, Michael, of Hopedale; a sister, Anne Wolff of Baltimore and a brother, Thomas Wolff of Fredricksburg, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
- Funeral services were held Thursday, April 8, in Maryland.
- Burial was in Centreville Cemetery, Maryland.
