Somerset — Mary Martha Alton, 82, of Somerset passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born in Tateville, Ky. on March 24, 1925 to the late Joshua and Terri Hill Bray. She worked as a cook and waitress when she lived in Michigan.
Survivors include a son Norman Earl (and his wife, Linda) Bolin of Missouri; three daughters, Shirley and her husband, Joe Marcum of Somerset, Mary Muller of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stella and husband Robert Carrender of Somerset; one sister, Marie Balle, of Indiana; eight children, Judy Ann Balle, Shannon Bolin, Norman Travis Bolin, Misty Loveless, Jo Edward Marcum, John Marcum, James Randall Miller, and Roy Bernard Miller; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenton Alton, whom she married in Somerset in October of 1975; three brothers, Darrell Hill, Albert Hill, and Hubert Bray; three sisters, Loreen Hill, Cleta Bray, and Ruth Bray; and two grandchildren, George Miller, and Jerry Wayne Marcum.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Martha Alton will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Gossett and Bro. Boyd Brewer officiating.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Mary Martha Alton Memorial Fund.
