I Isaiah Vansant of Lower Makefield Township in the County of Bucks & State of Pennsylvania do make and put in writing my last will and testament in manner & form following.-- I give and devise to my beloved wife Jane Vansant during her natural life the plantation whereon I now live, to occupy personally or to rent as may be the more convenient subject nevertheless to the clothing and support of her brother George Harvey, and also subject to the education and support of the children during their minority. I also give and bequeath to my said wife all the household & kitchen furniture together with the provisions which may be on hand at the time of my decease, and so much of my stock, farming utensils, hay and grain as will be sufficient for the management of the farm to a good advantage. -- And whereas I have executed an Article of agreement for the sale and conveyance of the grist mill and about five acres of land to Peter Crozer for the consideration therein mentioned, my will is and I do order and direct, in case of my previous death that my Executor herein after named do carry fully into effect the aforesaid contract agreeably to the stipulation contained in the said agreement, and I do further order and direct that the money arising from such sale after the payment of my just debts, shall be placed out by my Executor upon good & sufficient security, and the interest arising therefrom I give and bequeath to my aforesaid wife Jane Vansant during her natural life to be by her applied towards furnishing my daughters with settings out if they should incline to marry, in such manner as to her shall appear to be proper--as soon as conveniently may be after the death of my aforesaid wife, the Plantation devised to her as aforesaid shall be sold, and the money arising from such sale, together with the residue of the money from the sale of the grist mill shall be distributed in the following manner.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Howell wife of Charles Howell the sum of eight hundred dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Allethare Vansant the sum of eight hundred dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Vansant the sum of eight hundred dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Eliza Vansant the sum of eight hundred dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Vansant the sum of eight hundred dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my daughter Amelia Vansant the sum of eight hundred dollars.--I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Vansant the sum of one thousand dollars.-- I give and bequeath to my son Isaiah Vansant the sum of one thousand dollars.-- all the residue of my estate I give and bequeath to my two sons Samuel Vansant & Isaiah Vansant to be equally divided between them, but if either of my said sons should die in his minority & without issue my will is that the part or share of such decedent shall go to his surviving brother.-- and lastly I do nominate & appoint my friend Thomas Yardley sole Executor of this my last will & testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & nineteen.-- Isaiah Vansant (SEAL) Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Isaiah Vansant to be his last will and testament in presence of. Bucks County ss, On the 26th of March 1819. John Depuy & on the 10th April 1819 Joshua Vansant appeared before me & on their solemn affirmations did declare and say that they were present and saw said Isaiah Vansant the testator sign seal publish & declare the foregoing writing as & for his last will & testament & that he was at the time of so doing of sound mind & memory & of disposing understanding to the best of their knowledge & belief. -- John Pugh Regr.--
Bucks County ss (SEAL) Be it remembered that on the 26th of March & on the of (blank space) 1819 the foregoing last will & testament of Isaiah Vansant was duly proved when letters testamentery thereon were granted unto Thomas Yardley the Executor therein named he having first been duly affirmed well & truly to adminster the estate according to law, to render an Inventory within one month & to render a just account of his whold administration within one year or when lawfully thereunto required--Witess my hand & seal of Office-- John Pugh Regr. -- Registered 26 March 1819.
