BALTIMORE, Aug. 8 -- Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Elizabeth Key Sothoron, daughter of Mrs. Pinckney Lewin Sothoron of this city and the late Mr. Sothoron, to Gordon Bennett Worcester, son of Edwin George Worcester of Belmont, Mass., and the late Mrs. Worcester.
- Miss Sothoron attended Notre Dame School here and was introduced to society at the Bachelors Cotillon. Mr. Worcester was graduated from Harvard University in 1931 and from the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass., in 1934. (New York Times :D1, Reported 1942.08.09)

- Elizabeth S. Worcester, a former model and retired receptionist, died Saturday of heart failure at St. Joseph Medical Center. The former Roland Park resident was 92.
- Born Elizabeth Sothoron in Baltimore, she was a direct descendant of George Read, a Delaware signer of the Declaration of Independence, and Robert Oliver, the Baltimore merchant and Baltimore & Ohio Railroad executive whose 68-acre country estate became Green Mount Cemetery in 1839.
- She was raised in Bolton Hill and made her debut at the Bachelors Cotillon and the St. Cecilia's debutante ball in Charleston, S.C. After graduating from Notre Dame Preparatory School, she moved to New York City, where she was a professional model.
- "She did an awful lot of work for Vogue," said her son, Robert O.C. Worcester of Monkton.
- Mrs. Worcester was a receptionist for the Baltimore law firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman and Hollander from 1956 until 1981, when she retired.
- "She really was the face of the law firm because she was extremely outgoing, friendly and warm," her son said. "She was always positive and optimistic."
- She was a member of the Colonial Dames of America.
- Mrs. Worcester, a Monkton resident since 2005, was a tennis player when she was young. She was a dog fancier and enjoyed vacationing in Warm Springs, Va.
- She was a longtime communicant of St. David's Episcopal Church, where services were held yesterday.

She was born June 18, 1915 in Baltimore, Md. to William F. Sothoron & Annie P. Knott, both born in St. Mary's, Md. Informant was Mrs. Sothoron of the same address.
- Cause of death was Acute cardiac dilatation, with endocarditis being contributory. There is a notation of "over,” but reverse of form is not available. Diagnosis was on clinical basis, and certification was by J. F. Hawkins, M.D., 428 E. Lanvale St.
- Burial was at Loudon Park Cemetery on 1/30/1932. Services provided by I. Few McCully, 130 E. Fort. (Certificate of Death, Registered No. E76225, Baltimore City, MD,Recorded 1932.01.29 )
