Sylvester J. Oidtmann, age 86, of Chamois, Mo., died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at the University Hospital & Clinics.
He was born September 19, 1917, in Camden, Mo., the son of Henry W. & Anna (Bogler) Oidtmann, both deceased. He was married January 1, 1944, in Chamois, Mo., to Lydia H. Huebler, who preceded him in death November 22, 1998.
A lifelong area resident, Sylvester graduated from the Linn High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, Chamois, Mo.; a member of the Knights of Columbus; and a member of The American Legion.
Survivors include several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Marvin Oidtmann.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at the Morton Funeral Home, Chamois, Mo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, Chamois, Mo., with the Rev. Patrick Dowling officiating. Interment will follow at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery, Chamois, Mo.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, Chamois, Mo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morton Funeral Home, Chamois, Mo.
