NEWELLTON ? Lillian Ethel Clark Cooper died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at The Olive Branch Senior Care Center. She was 89.
Born in Louisville, Mrs. Cooper had lived in Tensas Parish for 65 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Newellton. She was a charter member of Flowers Landing Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sanford and Margaret Ella Rhodes Clark; four sisters, Jewel Clark, Nell Landrum, Sadie Mayo and Alma Landrum; three brothers, Ruben Clark, Howard Clark and Spivey Clark; and a son, Dr. Ralph Clark Cooper.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Ralph Jackson Cooper of Newellton; three daughters, Marilyn Virginia ?Snookie? Loftin of Delhi and Margaret Shirley Napoli and Mary June Turner, both of Monroe; a sister, Allie Dwight Tobia of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Newellton with the Revs. Fulton McGraw, Don Thornton and Todd Sumrall officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 537, Newellton, LA 71357 or to a favorite charity.
