OBITUARY
Jess Higgs
Jess higgs, 99, Pierce City, died Tuesday, July 31 at Aurora Community Hospital.
Mr. Higgs was born March 14, 1902 in Exeter, the son of Harvey Higgs and Francis Bell Baker Higgs. He was a Baptist minister and worked part-time with Forrest Products. He moved to Pierce City in 1995 from Cassville. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Pierce City.
He married Mary Francis tucker on August 5, 1928 in Stella. She survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Helen Fisher, Pierce City; two brothers, Hugh Higgs and Junior Higgs, both of Exeter; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Grace; four sisters; two brothers and one great-grandchild.
Services were held August 3 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Black, Rev. Greg Bunn and Rev. Danny Heupel officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
