- Culpeper, Va., Dec 31.-A most impressive ceremony took place in the Baptist church here today at the morning service, when in appreciation of his long services to the church of Charles F. Chelf, a silver cup was presented to him by the pastor as coming from the Church. Mr Chelf has been for 38 years treasurer of the church and for 50 years the secretary of its Sunday school. Mr. Chelf is now in his ninety-fourth year and, with one exception, is said to be the oldest man in this section of Virginia. (Washington Post :18, Reported 1923.01.01)
